Started with one jacket we couldn’t find
Winter 2021, Los Angeles. Two friends, one Lunar New Year dinner to dress for, and no jacket that felt right: the traditional tangzhuang were stiff and formal, the fashion versions were thin, and the one everybody wanted sold out in an afternoon.
So they made one. A mandarin collar and five disc buttons, because that’s the whole point; a boxy cut and a quilted lining, because that’s what they actually wanted to wear. Ten jackets for friends. Then forty. Then a studio off Melrose and a website with three photos.
Five years on, OG Store is still that one jacket. Three colorways, sizes M to 4XL, made in small runs so nothing sits in a warehouse for a year. The buttons are still knotted by hand. There is still no logo on the chest.
We ship from LA to all 50 states, answer every email ourselves, and take the jacket back for free if the size isn’t right. That’s the whole business.
